STOP JOSEPH KONY

I watched this video and yes it is a long one but you need to watch the entire video to understand their mission and who Joseph Kony is all about. This man had done evil things, especially toward children. Please watch these videos :

(P.S. "KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice."- Jason Russell, The Director of this video)
-WHO IS JOSEPH KONY?-

JOSEPH KONY  is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda.

The LRA say that God has sent spirits to communicate this mission directly to KonyDirected by Kony, the LRA has earned a reputation for its actions against the people of several countries, including northern Uganda, the Democratic Republic of CongoSouth Sudan and Sudan. It has abducted and forced an estimated 66,000 children to fight for them, and has also forced the internal displacement of over 2,000,000 people since its rebellion began in 1986. As a result, in 2005 Kony was indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court at the Hague, but has succeeded in evaded capture since. My personal note regarding this issue:

NOTHING is more dangerous than a person who thinks that he/she is god and hear "orders" from god to do such awful things that is against God's character, which is LOVE,  and against His word (Bible)/commandments. When someone said that they are god or sent by god and did NOTHING that is godly, they are NOT sent by God and definitely not God!.

When you see or hear a "self proclaimed Christian" and their words and action against the Bible, then do not follow them, listen to them, obey them or trust them.

How do you know what a real Christian is all about? Here is the clue: They LOVE God by being obedient to His word (Love God=Obedient). How do we know what His word is all about? THE BIBLE!.

"I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me" (John 10:14).

"If you love me, you will obey what I command" (John 14:15)

"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome." (1John 5:3)

"So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him." (1 John 4:16)

"And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it." (2 John 1:6)

Originally Kony's group was named the United Holy Salvation Army (UHSA) and was not perceived as a threat by the NRA. By 1988, with the accord between NRA and the Uganda People's Democratic Army and addition of its remnant troops as well as forced recruitment of children the United Holy Salvation Army was becoming a formidable resistance army.

The bulk of his foot soldiers were children. Whilst estimates of the number of children conscripted since 1986 vary, some put the figure as high as 104,000.  He often killed their family and neighbors when abducting these children, forcing them to fight for him. With these remnants of UPDA was commander Odong Latek, who convinced Kony to use standard military tactics as opposed to its previous attempts which involved attacking in cross-shaped formations and the use of holy water

The new tactics proved successful and the UHSA delivered several small but stinging defeats against the NRA. After these victories the NRA responded by significantly weakening Kony's group with political actions and a military campaign named Operation North. (Wikipedia)

The operation was devastating to what would become the Lord's Resistance Army and with their number reduced from thousands to hundreds still engaged in retaliatory attacks on civilians and NRA collaborators. (Source: Wikipedia, to read the full article about him, click here: via)

These are some ideas on how we could make a difference and help these helpless children and their families find justice and security:

1. Watch the video, then shared it via Facebook, Twitter, Blog or email it to your friends and family. WE MUST let the world know who this man is, his crimes and his life.

2. Pray!

3. Join their Facebook Page, click here  and this is their website: http://s3.amazonaws.com/www.invisiblechildren.com/index.html

4. Email/mail your government to do something about it, to keep fighting and to support/help these children. It is NOT about your own political stand or which party you support, it is about love, justice and humanity!

5. Support, Donate and Talk about it!

I have read some comments and articles from the other side. I do think that it is important for us to educate ourselves regarding any issue, but at the same time, no matter what the history behind Kony's action, he did bad things toward these children and it is better to do something against it than do nothing about it. If he is not doing any of it, then he should follow the legal procedure to prove otherwise, not hiding from it. Criticizing will not bring any justice or help for the victims. Of course there is no such thing as a perfect organization, but that does not mean we give up and do nothing. It is not that I am promoting the Invisible Children organization, but I do think that they are doing a great job raising awareness about this issue. The most important thing is that this is not about this organization, it is about the VICTIMS of Kony's crime.

This is another good read regarding whether or not we should support The Invisible Children organization, Kony, etc. (http://www.hisvoiceglobal.com/blog/?p=1206)

Thank you for reading and God Bless! TOGETHER, we can help make a difference!
