Pray More- Worry Less

Sometimes, even when we pray, the worry, fear and problems are still there, but there is power in prayer that makes you stronger to face them all. There is a huge comfort in knowing that God is doing something for your own good. It does not mean that you will get your prayer answered the way you wanted it, but it means that God answered it according to what He thought is the best for you.

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."
(Romans 12:12)

So many times when God showed us what He thought is the best answer to our prayers, we do not like it. In fact, it could be the most painful thing in your life. We may never understand why God would allow such thing to happened in our lives, especially because we prayed. But then one day, we woke up and we get what God was trying to do through that painful time in our lives. He wanted to save us from a future disaster, He wanted us to experience His love and  miracles. He gives us hope and strength that nobody else could provide, etc.

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
(James 1:2–4)

But, there are also moments and specific events that we might never understand why God allowed to exist in our lives. But, by faith, we just have to believe that God knows what He is doing, it is above our own understanding to know everything in this world. We just have to pressing through our problems, move forward with our lives and knowing that God is good, even when painful things happened to us, He is still a good God. Why? because that is faith; Pain, suffering, death, persecution, famine, and war will never separate us from God's love.

Our destination and home is heaven with Him, where there is no suffering, war, pain, sickness and death. This world filled with evil thoughts and acts, but this is not our forever home. Our hope and faith is in God, who is preparing our forever home in heaven.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
(Romans 8:28)

Some gives up hope and faith when painful events took place in there lives and hating God for not helping them, for allowing those things to existed, for leaving them when they needed God the most (or at least that's what we thought, while God is thinking and act differently). God will NEVER leave you, forsake you or laughed at you when you are in pain. He cry with you, laugh with you and died for you so that you could experience eternal life, not death (Read/click: 1 Thessalonians 5:10 and 1Peter 2:24)

"Be strong and courageous.
Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.
He will not leave you or forsake you.”
(Deuteronomy 31:6 )

Some gained hope and faith when those things happened in their lives and experience God's love like never before, because they knew that only God could take away that pain from their lives and replace that with unspeakable joy, healing, peace of mind that surpasses their own understanding and fear.

It is OUR choice to see and experience life differently!

We may chose to be happy and moved on or we chose to be miserable and walk backward to our past. We could chose to give it all to God or to carry all of our heavy burdens to ourselves and let it consumed our lives. We may chose to let God do what He think is best for us or we may chose to do it ourselves and screwed it up because we have no idea what we are doing. We could chose to be free or a slave to our own misery, sickness, pain and troubled life.

My prayer today for you who read this post is that God will gives you peace of mind, strength and comfort, hope for a better tomorrow and love that will filled your heart with gladness.
May God be with you and bless you,
May God takes away your pain and heals you,
May God comfort you and hug you with His arms,
May God wipe away those tears from your face and gives you peace,
May God take away the pain that enslaved your soul and gives you hope as your new anchor for the soul.
Be free in Jesus name! Amen

"do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:6–7 )

We Remember!
We Pray!
We Forgive!
We Defend Our Freedom!

Hero comes from a different type, both human and animals.
This is the tribute for our four legged heroes of 9/11
We thank you and love you both handlers and dogs!

My own collage that I made to remember this event (top left to the right, clockwise).
Images are taken from Google. I could not remember each pictures sources, but I remember searching the keyword 9/11 attack images.

We are praying for the families/friends of those who lost their loved ones on 9/11 (and because of/since 9/11). We will never forget and words will never be able to express our love for all of you.

We also wanted to thank those who served and are still fighting (Military Men/Women, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, etc) for our freedom and to make sure that no family would have to go through this senseless terrorist attack again.

Art Of The Week

I really love art.
My mom is a great artist and musician,
(to my own exaggeration because she is my mom, my hero LOL)

I have a passion for art and could spend a very long time in an art museum,
or anywhere where art exists,
pretty much as much as I love reading and book store/library!

One of my favorite is Street Painting!
these artists are awesome, amazing, great and beyond!

,
Speaking of it, have you seen the movie?
I LOVE it!!

Watch the amazing 3D artist Kurt Wenner draw a Christmas Nativity scene
at Belmont Forum Shopping Centre, Perth, Western Australia.

I could go on and on and on when it comes to art,
but I will stop here and let you enjoy their masterpiece!
Maybe you are one of them or maybe you will come up with an amazing artistic idea today.

Be inspired,
Be creative,
Be an artist of your own interpretation.
Everyone is unique,
Different

Precious!

Vote For Gabe

I am an animal lover,
I found a true love and friendship in an animal's heart.
I am a dog owner, pack leader and a dog lover.
But,
I love working dogs (or other working animals) even more,
Because they do the best they could for our (human) sake.

I also have a very special place for Military Working Dogs,
due to my husband being in the military, my love for working dogs and what I learned about them and their sacrifices to save a lot of lives.

Today,
I dedicate this blog entry for GABE!
He is a  Specialized Search Dog.

Gabe is a yellow lab who came from a pound in Houston, TX where the military adopted and then trained him.

Gabe started his duty in 2006 when he deployed to Iraq. He was fortunate enough to work with some truly amazing soldiers. His job was to find hidden guns and explosives and to help keep our soldiers safe. While deployed, he completed over 210 combat missions with 26 finds of explosives and weapons.

He also visited wounded troops in combat hospitals and visited children in elementary schools.
Gabe and his (human) dad continue to educate children about respect and the importance of staying in school and they hope to represent the Military Police is a very positive way for years to come.

Gabe and his handler, friend, dad, Charles Shuck.

He was selected as the American Kennel Club Heroic Military Working Dog in 2008 and was the runner up in the military category for the 2011 Hero Dog Award. He retired in 2009 after a very distinguished career earning over 40 awards and coins of excellence for his work.

Gabe is competing for the United States War Dog Association, Inc., a nonprofit organization of former and current U.S. Military Dog handlers and supporting members committed to promoting the long history of the Military Service Dogs, establishing permanent War Dog Memorials, and educating the public about the invaluable service of these dogs to our country.

Life Feels Overwhelming!

"Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
Six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing"

Katy Perry has her own way to describe the meaning of her songs and I think all of us could relate to a song with many translations into our own life.

There are times in my life when I feel like the words on that song!
My "translation" of that song is that I feel alone, lonely, under appreciated, lost, cannot breath and nobody cares to help out or to at least understand my situation.

Have you ever feel like that in your life?
You feel like life is sometimes required too much out of you and you are drained;
physically, mentally and spiritually.
You feel like there is nothing left to offer for life, but life keep asking you to give more of you.
What else do you want from me, life?
I have given you everything!

Have you ever feel like you are drowning, trying to catch your breath and when you finally could breath again, there is another wave came at your way, slapped you hard and you drowned again,
fighting to survive the life, trying to find a way to breath again.

Trapped, seemed like there is no way out, nobody cares, and problems just keep adding up.

Well, you are not alone because I have my moments like that and in fact, all of us have our moments like that in life.
The problems might not be the same, but the feeling is the same.

We all have our own "luggage" in life!
May it be from our past to present life that will affected our future.
May it be from our parents, surrounding or ourselves.
May it be a temporary ones or a permanent ones.
May it be important, less important, priority, less priority.
But, we still carry that luggage either way.

There are things that we could easily unpack from that luggage, but there are things that still need our cares or attention and therefore we could not unpack it, we must carry it, because we have no other choice.

  Examples?

Debts that needed to be paid,
Children that needed to be taken care of until they could do it themselves,
Marital problems that needed help,
Health problems that needed your attention,
Piles of work that needed to be finished on a certain due date,
Family member that needed your help because they are unable to survive without your help,
Traumas from death, abusive relationship, mistreated,
etc.

My point is that we all have our own struggling, problem and luggage in life.
Some might have more than others, whether we are responsible for those problems or not, but we must face those problems regardless what or who caused it.

Feels overwhelmed?

Try to unload ALL of your luggage,
write it down,
sort it according to its priority (important, less important).

Then,
sort it according to what you could do by yourself and which one that you needed other people's help.

Ask for others to help you out,
you do not have to do it alone (but if you are literally alone, try to do it one by one according to its level of priority).

Sometimes you just need to unpack the less important luggage,
You need to prioritize your life.

Stop beating yourself up trying to save everyone all at once and neglected yourself and your own family (spouse-children).

Stop thinking that you could do it all by yourself when you have option to share it with others who are involved in it.

Throw away things that are no longer important in your life, scratched it off your list, unpack it from your luggage.

Life's burdens are no joke!

People are fighting with each other, killing each other and even killing themselves because they could not handle it anymore.
The pain, the problems, the "seemed to have no way out" moment, the depression, the needs are way too hard, too much to handle.
You have none left to fulfilled the needs, the expectation from everyone (esp. the loved ones) that you must solve it when you actually could not do it anymore, the pressure are just way too much to handle.

Many people says that those who ended their life are cowards and the list goes on, but they knew nothing about this person. It is easier to say those things because you have an army to help you out when you have problems, you sit on top of gold, or your problems are not as hard as the person who chose to ended his life.

Do you know what it takes to end your own life? Everything!
They found no help, no love, no hope from everyone and everything and therefore death seemed to be a quick way out to ease the pain, to end the problems.

Sadly, it is not.
:(

People who killed themselves left a never ending sadness to their loved ones, who always wondering why they never ask for their help?
The never ending of "Why" and the regret of what could have happened had that person asked for their help/support.

There is always hope behind every crisis,
There is always a way out,
There is always someone who is willing to help you out!

Please do not kill yourself,
Because though you are broken, you are still precious and there is always someone who loves you.

Life could be overwhelming but do not give up!

My prayers and love for you today as you read my post and thinking that you are alone, but I promise you that you are not alone.
Knowing that you are stronger, able and precious.
You deserve to live a good life,
so please do not take that away from yourself.
You do not know what tomorrow holds for you.

Giving up is not an answer!

My prayers for you right now is that God will give you the hope that you need,
the way out,
the people to help you out,
the strength to empowered yourself to fight back,
His love to remind yourself that you are worthy and too precious.

I may not have all the answers for you,
Am I problems free? nope and so are the rest of the human population.
We all have problems,
some are even harder than we thought because they do not show it in their everyday lives.
Just because people are smiling or put cool statuses and pictures on Facebook or Twitter (lol), does not mean their lives are problems free.
Just because they seemed happy does not mean that they do not have problems in life.
People only shows what they want the world to see them, not what really is going on in their lives.

But, if we involved in helping others in need, we started to see that we are not alone buried with problems, other people have it harder than us.
Sometimes what we need is other people to help us with our problem, to defined our problem, to open our eyes up to see that we can do it, it is not that bad and even if it is that bad, we will be fine because they has proved it by their own living testimony.

Community,
especially those with the same problems really helps us understand that we are not alone. Sometimes we must stop looking "up" and starting to look around us or below us to understand that we are not the only one living this nightmare, others has their own and there are many who has worst situation than ours.

Find your community!
First, you must defined your problems then you seek help.
What do you want in life, set a goal, then go from there.
Little by little, but moving forward!

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18

"Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield."
Psalm 33:20

“Along the way you might fall down, sometimes in life, you might fall down and can’t find the strength to get back up, do you think you have hope?
Because I tell you, I’m down here and I have no arms and no legs.
It should be impossible for me to get up, but it’s not”

Pacific Partnership 2012 in North Sulawesi, Indonesia

Pacific Partnership is an annual deployment of forces from the Pacific Fleet of the United States Navy (USN), in cooperation with regional governments and military forces, along with humanitarian and non-government organizations.
The deployment was conceived following the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, as a way to improve the interoperability of the region's military forces, governments, and humanitarian organisations during disaster relief operations, while providing humanitarian, medical, dental, and engineering assistance to nations of the Pacific, and strengthening relationships and security ties between the nations.
The deployment is typically based around an amphibious warfare vessel or hospital ship of the USN's Pacific Fleet. Other nations regularly contribute to the deployment; the Australian Defence Force has provided assets since the first deployment in 2006, and seven nations, along with other branches of the United States Armed Forces, US government agencies, and non-government organizations, were involved in Pacific Partnership 2011.

Pacific Partnership 2012

About
A dedicated humanitarian and civic assistance mission conducted with and through partner nations, non-governmental organizations and other U.S. government agencies.

Mission
Pacific Partnership 2012 will perform humanitarian and civic assistance activities in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia. USNS MERCY (T-AH 19) will serve as the command platform in addition to a Japanese Landing Ship Tank (LST 4001) OOSUMI. PP12 seeks to build and strengthen alliances, partnerships and relationships with regional host nations, partner nations, foreign humanitarian assistance actors and non-government organizations (NGO), and U.S. government interagency organizations by conducting HCA and other civil military operations.

On January 31ST 2012, the Governor of North Sulawesi, Mr. Sinyo Sarundajang, is invited to attend the Mid Planning Conference Pacific Partnership 2012 (PP12) in San Diego, CA. I am extremely excited when I read the news because for one, I am a Manadonese and my husband is a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer. Partnership like this is amazing because their mission is humanitarian, friendship and strengthened the relationship between the nations.

So, Military Sealift Command (MSC) hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) departed Naval Station San Diego May 3, beginning its part in Pacific Partnership 2012, a four-and-a-half month humanitarian and civic assistance mission to Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia. Mercy was scheduled to depart May 1, but a mechanical problem delayed the ship's departure for two days.

Pacific Partnership 2012 is a mission that will take medical, dental, veterinary, engineering and civic assistance projects to Southeast Asia and Oceania. Pacific Partnership missions build on relationships that have been developed during previous missions, for example Mercy's participation in international relief efforts following the December 2004 tsunami that struck Southeast Asia, and Mercy's 2006, 2008 and 2010 humanitarian and civic assistance deployments to the region.

USNS Mercy arrived in Manado, North Sulawesi, on May 31 2012 as part of a two-week visit to Indonesia and to participate in the PP12. The people of Manado were so excited to see the big ship arrived in their city and the mission it carries. They are forever grateful and loved the Mercy and her crew :)

Manado is the "Land of swaying coconut tree and smiling people", because we have a lot of coconut trees, LOL, we love people, we are friendly, happy, love to eat and outgoing people. Manado's culture got influenced a lot by the Dutch, Spain, Portuguese, Japanese and British cultures. All of those mixed cultures influences shows in our ethnicity, foods, languages, names, also religion. We are the largest Christian's region in Indonesia and so far our city has been living in peace and harmony with everyone.

This is the summary of what they did that I got from http://www.cpf.navy.mil/news.aspx/030010 but I am posting some pictures of their missions from various sources.

"Pacific Partnership 2012 (PP12) completed its first mission port in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, June 15. Aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), the PP12 team of more than 1,200 crew spent 15 days traveling between Manado and the three islands of Sangihe, Talaud, and Siau.
The multinational, multi-organizational crew of host and partner nations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) worked in the fields of medical and dental, veterinarian, civil engineering and subject matter expert exchanges. They also conducted community service in the areas of sports and recreation, donated items and band performances.
"I believe the key to our success was our ability to bring people together in a focused effort," said Capt. James Morgan, PP12 Mission Commander. "We have accomplished a great deal in two weeks time."
The mission participated in 11 major subject matter expert exchanges involving more than 1,000 Indonesian specialists, allowing this year's mission to continue building on established best practices for all the countries involved.
According to Morgan, nearly 200 surgeries were conducted; four major engineering projects stood up; over 2,300 livestock and pets received veterinary care; and, over 9,000 local citizens received medical evaluations and treatments in Manado and on the outer islands.

The crew also conducted cultural exchanges and community service with local citizens by playing sports, reading with children, transporting donated supplies, and conducting 10 music concerts and clinics performed by the U.S. Pacific Fleet Band.

The goal of PP12 is to take part in a humanitarian and civic assistance mission that brings together U.S. military and civilian personnel, host and partner nations, non-government organizations and international agencies to build stronger relationships and develop disaster response capabilities.

"Pacific Partnership in Indonesia brought together the very best military, humanitarian, governmental and non-governmental agencies and organizations that our countries and the international community as a whole have to offer," Morgan said. "I couldn't be more proud."
Working together as an integrated team and at the invitation of the Indonesian government, Indonesia military and civil service personnel worked alongside the partner nations of Australia, Canada, France, Malaysia, and the United States; the NGOs of Global Grins, Hope World Wide, Johns Hopkins University Medicine, Latter Day Saints Charities, Project Handclasp, Project Hope, Univ. of California San Diego Pre-Dental Society, University of Hawaii Schools of Engineering and Nursing, and World Vets; and, Joint and Interagency teams from the United States Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy, Departments of State, Justice, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Approximately 70 professional civilian mariners also ensured the safety and navigation of the USNS Mercy.
The remaining Pacific Partnership 2012 mission ports include the Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia. Through active engagement with host nation officials and militaries, subject matter expert exchanges, civil action projects and medical exchanges, the mission will continue to build the regional partnerships and collective abilities needed to respond to natural disasters.

Sponsored by the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet and now in its seventh year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual humanitarian civic assistance mission in the Asia-Pacific Region."

Thank you very much for everyone who volunteered and involved with the PP12. You did great things for the people of North Sulawesi and Indonesia in general. You have changed many lives, perspective and bond a strong partnership and friendship of the nations.

Thank you for all of your donations, money, energy, time, work, help, talents, sacrifices (including and especially) for leaving your families for months due to the deployment (Thank You USNS Mercy's families).

I wished many people would realize the prize these families must endure during deployment. I also wished that many people would understand and realized that the military is not all about war, they are doing many humanitarian efforts all over the world just like this one. For once in your life, set your political view aside, and see it from a different perspective. I am sure the people that they helped would love to tell you what they did and how it changed their lives forever.
We hope to see you again in Indonesia! Terima Kasih, Sampai Jumpa Lagi (Thank You, Til We Meet Again)!
