House and Colors

I don't usually post anything about interior design, but I actually LOVE looking at houses and interior designs. These are some of my favorite things that I found today.

I love the colors!

I mean, I am a pretty basic girl when it comes to my own house interior design. I love contemporary house with white, blue and turquoise colors. I love the beach/island theme when it comes to what I want in a house. But, I made an exception for these pictures.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Well OK, I gotta stop before I put thousands of pictures in this post LOL!
I just LOVE all these interior design's ideas. I would not mind doing these ideas for my own house someday.

Do you like it?

Lindsay

Update On My 100 Miles In August's Challenge

Remember my  "100 Miles" post that I posted in the beginning of this month? Well, I could happily say that I have finished the challenge today, a day before my birthday! yay!!! Nothing like an early birthday present from you to yourself, right? hmmm that might sound a little weird, but anyway, what I am trying to say is that receiving presents from other people for you is a joyous feeling, but when you do something that benefits yourself for a better you, that is like the best feeling ever. I found it easier to give than receive, I hate being the spotlight, center of attention and I even hate an unexpected surprise. So, when I actually do something for myself, I feel good!

Along the way, I find out that I do not push myself to the limit when I workout. I mean, I run on a regular two to four miles daily, but because I do not have any miles goals in my mind, I do not push myself more. Now that I have a goal in my mind, I am actually capable of running or biking more that my regular miles daily. I did this challenge five days a week for forty minutes to one hour a day, with two rest days, or when I know my body needs more rest. I also did some strength training three times a week along with my cardio and I did not die LOL.

The best way to motivates yourself is to motivates yourself! You must be your number one supporter and fans in order to push yourself. Do not compare your journey to other people's journey because everyone has a different body type, metabolism and goals in mind. Every person has their own workout that works faster for them, but maybe not for you. You must find out what works for your body, lifestyle and goals. I also stay away from those who makes fun of my journey, simply because I know that when I am sixty years old, I would still have toned muscles, running a marathon, have a glowing skin, happy and looks hot (it is a fact, google it) LOL.

I prioritize my health because God gives me this body and I have an obligation to take good care of my own body, so that someday I will not bother my grand children to take care of their sick grandma with hospital bills because grandma did not taking good care of herself when she was younger. Sometimes sickness just happened even though you have been taking care of yourself, but many times, you know exactly why you got sick and that is not right or fair to those who have to taking care of you because of your ignorant and laziness. I eat everything, I do not live in a wrong diet world, but I eat in moderation. You will be surprised of how good healthy foods tastes like and do for your body, try it first before passing judgement.

I rarely get sick, but this month, unfortunately, I got a little sick because I was hiking on a very hot day and I did not have enough water. BIG mistake! So, I got sick for two days and after that I got back on track again and finished strong.

I would like to encourage all of you to start living a happy, fun and healthy lifestyle. Do it for yourself, your kids and the environment. No more excuses, because excuses will not get you places, but moving will do that. Start with a fifteen minutes walking, then increase to twenty, thirty and more. Start with a walk to a jog to a run or bike or swim. Do what works for you! Do it for at least three days a week, once you started working out, your body will wants and requires more from you. Working out is an addiction! HA!

Some helpful tips:

-Drink water before, during and after workout.

-Stretch before and after workout.

-Eat good foods, mostly fruits, nuts, vegetables and good proteins. Eat before and after workout (before: oatmeal, banana, etc. After: Protein Shake, Chicken Breast, etc- Google it)

-Rest and listen to your body.

-Run, swim, hike, bike, walk for at least thirty minutes a day for five days a week.

-Read or watch some workout videos before your workout, it helps you learn new techniques and motivates you as well.

-Do it for or with other people who would be a motivator/inspiration. Stay away from those who does not motivates you to be better. My inspiration is this girl, Jen, check out her Facebook page, like and support her journey!

-Join a health club if that will make you go workout.

-Mix your workout (run-bike-jog-swim for example), also try to burn a lot of calories not just counting the miles. If you are running/biking at the gym, run with some inclines or when you do bike, make sure you watch your RPM and paddle on a high level, increase your level of difficulties every three to four minutes for example.

-Find great places to workout outside your gym (nice hiking trail, run by the beach, etc). My husband and I (plus our dog, Luke)  found one new place to workout every weekend. I calculate my miles and calories by using some apps like Nike+ to help me on track.

-Buy some cute and comfortable workout outfits and shoes that you would love to wear and feel good about your body. If you are a runner, find a good socks, shoes and sport bra (women).

-Take it day by day, do not over think it, over analyze it or over do it.

-Take a nice hot shower or cold shower, it helps my muscles to relax.

-Write down your accomplishment each day, write down your workout for the day, also I like to write down some encouragements words.

-Entertained yourself during a workout, may it be with music, videos/books/magazine (when you do bike inside a gym, not when you are running or riding your bike on the street lol), taking pictures before-during resting-after workout, like me (below) LOL!! Before you knew it, you already killed ten miles! woot woot!!

-Reward yourself.

Lindsay

My Getaway

My Getaway..
Sometimes when I need to find peace,
I run into nature,
I hide on its beauty.

My Getaway..
Sometimes when life feels overwhelming,
I seek wisdom,
I listen to her.

My Getaway..
Sometimes when the uncertain scared me,
I surrender to the all powerful one,
I let my fear go.

My Getaway..
I found you everywhere,
I rest my case,
No more worry because life is beautiful,

 My Getaway..
The ONE who knows my secret,
my deepest fear,
my glorious moment,
my best and worst thoughts,
my insecurity,
my pain and my gain.

My Getaway,
I am saved with you,
perfectly covered with grace,
overwhelmed with love,
living with hope anchored on my soul.

My Perfect Getaway!

Picture Of The Day

via

For more of the story behind it click here:
 V-J Day in Times Square

August 14, 1945
(67 years ago today.)

After the announcement of surrender from Japan was made official, celebrations took place around the world to mark the surrender, and thus the long-awaited end to WWII.

The most famous picture taken that day would be of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square. The spontaneous kiss was caught on camera but the photographer, Alfred Eisenstaedt, did not immediately ask for their identities.

Soon after the streets filled with people, and although many people have come forward over the years, neither person has been identified with certainty.

Fake Forgiveness

Fake Forgiveness!

HA! A friend of mine told me a very wise statement, "Truth that hurts is better than a fake honesty," I totally agree with her on that one. I mean, don't you wanna know the truth? ..I do.., even though there are many times that I've wished the answers would have been different or the answers would have made me smile instead of mad or crying.

Many times, we allowed ourselves to enjoy the moment of "fake honesty". We knew they lied but we go along with it because it makes us feel better about ourselves, our situation, our relationship. We ignore the importance of "truth" for the sake of "drama-free" zone. But, do you really wanna enjoy the things that are not suppose to be enjoyable? Do you really wanna lie to yourself?

Social Media, such as Facebook and Twitter, are a very great place to stay in touch with other people and also a very dangerous place as well. People are at war with each other based on status updates, pictures war and relationship statuses, *Laughing Out Loud*, you laughed because you know it is true!

I deleted a lot of people because it was just way too much drama. I am on Facebook because most of my families and friends are in the other part of the world and Facebook makes it easier to communicate or shared my pictures (instead of sending the pictures via emails to hundreds of them). But, some people are just way to sensitive and take it too seriously. The funny thing is that many of them are being too coward to confront people when they see them, but "very brave" updating their statuses to explain what  they are feeling about them. Why can't you just go to these people or email them privately or call them and tell them the problem instead of pouring your soul out on Facebook? It is ridiculous to read how people are attacking each other on their statuses. The anger, the jealousy, the fake "like" and the competition to proved that you are better than them. Facebook is good for staying in touch with people you know, not a war zone. Facebook is a good place to encourage each other with your words, to entertained each others with your silly pictures or beautiful view from your vacations, not to showing off that you are richer or better than others. I guess it is all coming back to yourself, how you see things and how you take it. Some take it the wrong way and others just have fun with it.

People also forgot that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether we like it, agree with it or not. Social media has lost its purpose and gained popularity for other purposes, such as "being fake" (from fake happiness, social status, pictures, feelings, etc).

Let's go back to fake forgiveness!

Many times when people said, "I forgive you!", they are still mad at the person, but they do it anyway so it will not burdened them. Many times people also said those words not because they really forgive that person, but they said that to make them feel better about themselves. I mean, yes forgiveness will make you free, but if you don't really forgive them, it does not give you freedom, it gives you another burden because you lied to covered your true feeling. It is better to admit that you could not forgive (yet) than to say I forgive but actually I don't.

I am a believer in forgiveness as a way to make peace with yourself, but it does not mean faking it. I hate when people say they forgave but they said that because they wanted other people to see them as the nice, noble and better person. Yes, you are not the one who did the bad things on the first place, but to lie to other people, does not make you a better person either. You could lie to people, but you could not lie to God and yourself. If you really wanna be free, you should really forgives. If you still need time, it is better to admit it than to lie.

A friend of mine called me a couple of months ago, admitting that she used my name to win an argument with her friend. I found it very disturbing for a big girl to use me as an example to someone that I do not even know exists. She admitted that she had to lie to win the stupid argument and that she was sorry. I was offended! I mean, if you wanted  to use my name, at least have a dignity to use it for the right reason, truthfully. But, she did that because she could not be herself, she had to use someone else's life to cover for her own insecurity. Faking and lying about anything does not make you a better person, no matter what the reasons or excuses behind it. The worst part is I know when she told me the story, she did not really regret it. She was not sorry that she used my name, she called me because she was scared that her friend would ask me personally and therefore her name will came up as the  "story teller" , LOL, sad, isn't it? but it is also very true that we tend to do something "nice" because we are trying to save our own face.

Admitting that you are sorry or that you forgave, even though you did not mean it, but you said it anyway to make you feel better about yourself or so that other people will see you as a good, noble and better person, is a wrong reason.

If you wanna do something nice and noble, do it for the right reason. The right reason for this issue would be "To Forgive" or to say "I Am Sorry" and really mean it.

You could run but your could not hide (from God, your past, and yourself).

Forgive!

Lindsay

I Am Already Disturb, Please Come In

!

LOL!!
People tend to do the things we told them not to do
or should I say, "rules are meant to be broken?,"
This sign should do it!
*still laughing*

Sometimes what we need to do in life is to let other people know how we really feel at that moment, that way they will not pushed your button or disturbed you when you need your holy moment of "Me Time" and you will not hurt them with your attitude or words.

When we stressed out,
we tend to say and do things that we do not mean to do,
but a tired body and mind could not think straight.

Everyone needs a break, a rest, a time to re-think and re-energized the body, soul, mind..life. Many of us think that we could not do that because there are so many people and things that depended on us and therefore we have no time to rest, re-think, re-energized ourselves, even when we need it.

Many times, we let ourselves down in order to make other people happy or functioned. It may sound selfish, but the benefits of you taking care of you is huge. You may never know what a five minutes rest or an hour or a day of "do not disturb" me moment will do to yourself (and others).

Marriage is the field of learning what to do and what not to do!

First year of my marriage, I tend to think and expected my husband to know me, to understand me, and then to  realized that he is actually clueless (he is not a mind reader).

When I am down, sad or stressed out, I expected my husband to just know it, but he did not. Men says that women are mysterious. That might be a surprise for us, women, because we think we are a VERY easy creature, "what not to love and what not to understand's" thought, but we are wrong. Women are complicated compare to men. I learned more about this after I got married. HA!

I, sometimes, do not understand me!
...LOL...

Hormonal, complicated feelings, circumstances, blah blah.. that is not the case. If you feel like you are in a bad mood, you should tell your spouse. Tell them specifically what you want to do, need to do and what you expected from them to help you out. There are times that they might not be able to help you out, because it is your own problem and you are the one who should help yourself out, but many times they are a great helper. If you do not tell others what you are feeling, they might take it personally. Many times, they (spouse, kids, etc) are the problem, but sometimes they are not the problem, but they are the one who get yelled at and that will hurt them.

Do yourself a favor and save yourself!
:)

I took a huge leap of faith when I quit my job,my source of income, my comfort zone. But, it was the right time to do so because I was going insane with my over worked body. I was exhausted mentally, physically and drained spiritually. I need a rest in order for me to re-arrange my own life to be a better me. I feel a lot better after that break and loving my life again.

We need to be brave,
do not over think or over analyze something that is actually a very simple issue.

Sometimes, all you need to do is to re-think, re-energized, re-arrange your life and to let others know that you need that "Me Time" or "I am already disturb, please come in" sign and I betcha..nobody will mess with you at that time!

For those who did not get it (lol)
*It is not an invitation, it is a warning sign*

Oscar Pistorius

This is my favorite athlete of the week!
He is my hero, my inspiration and motivation in life.
His journey is amazing, his dedication is outstanding,
his faith is strong and he could run very fast!
When I watched him ran at the Olympics,
I was just amazed by his talent and determination.
WOW!!
His life is a blessing
:)

"Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius (born 22 November 1986) is a South African sprint runner. Known as the "Blade Runner" and "the fastest man on no legs", Pistorius, who has a double below-knee amputation, is the world record holder for class T44in the 100, 200 and 400 metres events and runs with the aid of Cheetah Flex-Foot carbon fibre transtibial artificial limbs by Össur. He competes in T44 (single below knee amputees) events though he is actually classified in T43 (double below knee amputee).

Although eligible to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, Pistorius did not qualify for the South African team. Despite achieving third place and a personal best time of 46.25 seconds in the 400 metres in Lucerne, Switzerland, on 16 July 2008, this was short of the Olympic qualification time of 45.55 seconds. He was also not selected by the South African Olympic Committee for the 4 × 400 metres relay team as there were four other runners who had achieved better times. At the 2008 Summer Paralympics, he took the gold medals in the 100, 200 and 400 metres (T44) sprints.

With his 400 metres time of 45.07 seconds on 19 July 2011, he achieved the "A" qualifying standard for the 2011 World Championships and 2012 Summer Olympics. At the Championships, he participated in the 400 metres sprint and the 4 × 400 metres relay. He was eliminated in the semi-final of the 400 metres sprint (finishing last with a time of 46.19 seconds), but, as part of South Africa's silver medal winning relay team, he became the first amputee to win an able-bodied world track medal although he was not selected for the final.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics on 4 August 2012, Pistorius became the first amputee runner to compete at an Olympic Games. In the 400 metres race, he took second place in the first heat of five runners, finishing with a time of 45.44 seconds (his best time of the season so far) to advance to the semi-finals on 5 August. He ran in the second semi-final where he finished eighth with a time of 46.54 seconds." (Source: Wikipedia

Curiosity Has Landed!

Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) is a robotic space probe mission to Mars launched by NASA on November 26, 2011, which successfully landed Curiosity, a Mars rover, in Gale Crater on August 6, 2012 at 05:14:39 UTC. The Curiosity rover's objectives include determining Mars's habitability, studying its climate and exogeology, and collecting data for future human missions. The rover carries a variety of scientific instruments designed by an international team.

Curiosity's Snaps Picture of Its Shadow.

This is the first image taken by NASA's Curiosity rover,
which landed on Mars the evening of Aug. 5 PDT (morning of Aug. 6 EDT).
It was taken through a "fisheye" wide-angle lens on one of the rover's front left Hazard-Avoidance cameras at one-quarter of full resolution.

The clear dust cover on the camera is still on in this view, and dust can be seen around its edge, along with three cover fasteners. The rover's shadow is visible in the foreground.

As planned, the rover's early engineering images are lower resolution. Larger color images are expected later in the week when the rover's mast, carrying high-resolution cameras, is deployed.
